American Werewolf in London Location Hunting
American Werewolf in London (1981) is the middle entry in director John Landis's holy trinity of films. The others being The Blues Brothers (1980) and Trading Places (1983). The film was shot entirely in the UK, with the Black Mountains of Wales doubling for an unspecified area in Northern England (judging by the accents of those in The Slaughtered Lamb), and London portraying... London. The sign was a movie prop, I brought my own. The Slaughtered Lamb is, in reality, a residential property. The interiors were filmed in an actual pub in Surrey, just south of London. The statue of an angel was created by the film makers. The hamlet of Crickadarn is the home to community featured in the film. Watch this space, more locations will be posted in 2026...
